I would like to announce new project i start today.

Nokia N900 translation project that junction with other localize project. Due to N900 use open source Maemo 5 as their operating system this allow us to modify the way we want that is possible for us to translate this full system to our language.

Hopefully when project is done this can help some of us Cambidian that have technologies challenging able to use smart phone device without any problem at all.

First: go to transifex.net and register an free account ..

And request to join, make sure you select correct language ..

As now this project come to testing stage when around 25% are translated. I hope to get some more help from our local team to finish it faster. As now only me and other member from USA that working on this which is mean our words may not able to able to understand by Local USER .

To install that, make sure you have added "Extras-devel" repository:
application manager –> application catalogs –> new
catalog name: maemo extras-devel
web address: repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/
distribution: fremantle
components: free non-free

Then, you may need to "Check update".
You can find the package under "System" category.
The name is "N900-i18n-km_KH".


Our currently problem is need Khmer Word that are not gender base to translate commons string such as " yes " " agree " " accept " .. see bug detail and join us in .. code.google.com/p/n900-extra-translations/issues/detail?id=12
